Summary :
This SAP Note discusses methods to halt an upgrade process at a specific phase during a system upgrade or Enhancement Package installation. SAP offers specific commands (R3up stop , R3up stop) to stop the upgrade process either before a named phase or the next phase within tools such as R3up, SAPup, or SAPehpi from version 4.5B onwards. For earlier versions, users must manually create a .BRK file in the /bin directory specifying the exact phase before which the upgrade should halt. This ensures targeted control over the upgrade process, enhancing system management and planning.
