SAP Note 558197 - upgrade hangs in PARCONV_UPG, XPRAS_UPG, SHADOW_IMPORT_UPG2,

Component : Oracle - Upgrade - general

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/558197 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Issues during the upgrade phases such as PARCONV_UPG, SHADOW_IMPORT_UPG2, XPRAS_UPG, and JOB_RSINDCHK when using Oracle databases version below 10g are observed due to high CPU usage by Oracle processes. This often involves database sessions locked on select statements dealing with 'user_ind_columns' or 'dba_ind_columns'. The solution includes downloading and running specific scripts from the SAP service portal to optimize database views, reducing dictionary statistics issues and streamlining the upgrade process. Post-upgrade, different steps are recommended for R3 and BW systems to revert view definitions.
