SAP HANA Database revision 110 and higher requires additional operating system packages on RHEL 6 and SLES 11 due to an upgrade to GCC 4.8 compiler. For RHEL 6, users must ensure the compat-sap-c++ package is installed, typically available through a specific Red Hat subscription channel. For SLES 11 SP4 and higher, necessary packages like libgcc_s1 and libstdc++6 are typically available via default repository or can otherwise be manually installed. SLES 11 SP2 or SP3 users need to manually download these from SUSE’s repository. Additionally, no library updates are required for systems running only HANA DB client software.
