SAP Note 183118 - SELECT FOR ALL ENTRIES and ORDER BY PRIMARY KEY

Component : Syntax, Compiler, Runtime -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/183118 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
When using "SELECT FOR ALL ENTRIES" in SAP, the ORDER BY PRIMARY KEY clause does not sort the retrieved dataset according to the database table's primary key. This issue has been recognized as a kernel error affecting specific patch levels. Systems running on UNIX with patch levels 259-262 for version 4.5B and all platforms at patch levels 112-117 for version 4.6A are impacted. A solution is available in the form of patches: patch level 263 for 4.5B and 118 for 4.6A, which correct the SELECT statement behavior to ensure proper data sorting.
