In an SAP Product Safety environment with Specification Management, error C1821 arises when attempting to remove text entered in a standard characteristic, when it's coupled with another characteristic that has fixed, language-specific values assigned. This inconsistency triggers the error message, due to a program flaw. Resolution includes applying updates from EH&S ERP 2004 Support Package 06 or manually creating a function module C1AX_CHARACT_HAS_FIX_VALUES using transaction SE37, concerning parameter settings for fixed value characteristics. Further implementation instructions are provided for corrections.
