SAP Note 765983 - DB2/zOS: Reducing number of DSNACCOR REORG recommendations

Component : DB2 for z/OS -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/765983 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Users of DB2 on z/OS V7 and higher may experience extensive reorganization of tablespaces when executing "Online reorg on suggested tablespaces," as instructed by SAP Note 507824. This extensive activity can disrupt the operational workload. The reorganization recommendation by stored procedure DSNACCOR does not consider the tablespace size, leading to unnecessary reorganization for smaller tablespaces without performance loss. New thresholds in DSNACCOR reduce undue reorg recommendations by considering the absolute number of modified rows and the number of active pages, improving system efficiency without compromising SAP function. Configurations can be adjusted via transaction ST04 or DB2 under "DB Alert Settings."
