Summary :
For periodic settlement in SAP, when the "Asset under construction" indicator is active in the investment profile, costs from the order or WBS element are automatically settled to the asset under construction and cleared from their original allocations. For full settlement, these costs are transferred to the finalized asset. Alternatively, preliminary and full settlement rules can be utilized to direct portions of costs to other receivers, such as cost centers or G/L accounts. Line item apportionment allows for detailed settlement configuration via transactions like KOB5, CJ7O, or CJIC, enabling both specific and blanket rule settings.
