Summary :
Starting with SAP Release 3.0D, the standard system allows for the inclusion of external requirements in reorder point planning, utilizing MRP type settings. This adjustment means that the reorder point now compares against net stock (current stock minus external requirements), potentially triggering earlier procurement. However, dependent requirements are excluded from this calculation to prevent premature ordering. Modifying the system to include dependent reservations or other external requirements such as stock transfer reservations or subcontracting needs is possible and detailed in the SAP note. Concerning prior versions till 3.0C and specific issues up to 3.0F, modifications and corrections are discussed, ensuring integration as of 3.1G.
