When creating customer or vendor masters via transactions XD01, VD01, FD01, XK01, MK01, or FK01, it is possible for these entities to inadvertently inherit the address number of an existing customer or vendor if specific conditions are met. This issue arises primarily when the newly entered customer or vendor number initially matches an existing number, and is then either deleted (with internal number assignment) or overwritten with a non-existing number that is lexicographically smaller than the initially entered one. The solution requires implementing corrections from SAP Note 164653, suitable for various R/3 releases to correct and reassign address numbers properly.
