SAP Note 364363 - PDF converter: email tools destroy PDF format

Component : SAPscript -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/364363 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
If using external email applications like Lotus Notes to dispatch PDFs created via SAP's CONVERT_OTF function module, these tools may corrupt the PDFs by misclassifying them as plain text instead of binary. This issue stems from the email tool, though the generated PDFs are technically correct. Historically, the SAP PDF converter hasn't included a specific four-character opening comment recommended by Adobe since the 2000 PDF V.1.3 Reference Manual, meant to prevent such issues. Solutions have been incorporated in standard system updates post version 6.1 and specific Support Packages across various releases to rectify this by adhering to Adobe's specifications.
