When attempting to transfer material movements to Profitability Analysis (PA) via automatic account assignment in SAP, if a cost center is defined during document entry, the movement might not be reflected in PA although PA is activated. This issue arises because the specified cost center serves as an actual account assignment in Controlling (CO), leading to a bypass of automatic assignment checks since the account details are fetched solely based on account determination rules. To rectify, users can define cost centers in OKB9, making them statistical while noting profitability segments as actual. Alternatively, enhance document entry procedures to integrate cost center and profitability segment assignments together, or utilize the substitution exit in Transaction OKC9 to enforce the correct profitability segment determination, keeping Note 39635 in reference for versions up to 3.1I, amending the user-exit per newer versions' requirements by adjusting the condition syntax.
