SAP Note 1721715 - SYB: sybctrl: No such file or directory

Component : Sybase ASE Database Platform -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1721715 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
The SAP Note addresses an issue where the Sybase ASE database fails to stop due to a missing 'sybctrl' file. This situation occurs post-SAP upgrade, wherein 'sybctrl' is inadvertently absent in the kernel directory. The solution recommends restoring 'sybctrl': if available, by copying from /usr/sap//SUM/abap/exenew to /usr/sap//SYS/exe/run, or, if missing, by downloading it from the SAP Service Marketplace under the specified path and OS. Further, it instructs running '/usr/sap//SYS/exe/run/saproot.sh ' to correct file permissions.
