When using SAP to post or simulate a gross managed down payment, there is an expectation for tax amounts to be translated using an exchange rate set according to the tax reporting date. However, users have encountered an issue where the document date is incorrectly used instead. This is prominent if the VATDATE isn't preentered in BTE 2051, influenced by the activation of the tax reporting date function per SAP Note 1232484, and the foreign currency translations as per SAP Note 730466. To address this, VATDATE should be entered on the initial or overview screen of the payment transaction. Additionally, modifications in BTE 2051 settings and VATDATE_RULES in BAdI implementations are recommended to ensure the proper determination of VATDATE. Adherence to these correction instructions is advised to achieve the correct exchange rate application for tax calculations.
