In an SAP environment, when attempting to clear an open item with active document splitting in General Ledger Accounting (new), the system might exit due to runtime errors such as COMPUTE_BCD_OVERFLOW or COLLECT_OVERFLOW_TYPE_P. These occur within LGLT0F53, triggered by large value accumulations in FAGL_SPLINFO_VAL. Despite implementing corrections from SAP Note 1355300, errors persist due to excessive values from extended clearing chains (refer to Note 1419567 and 1561736). To resolve, avoid such chains and limit value sizes, though be aware of potential unresolved overflow errors even with program corrections.
