Summary :
This SAP Note guides on configuring Java application servers for high availability during database outages by using IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC's failover functionalities. For environments using DB2 for z/OS, combined seamless and cascaded failover enables uninterrupted service availability. This is essential for systems like SAP Web AS 6.40, SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and 7.1, where Java stack high availability isn't natively supported unlike the ABAP stack. Connections are rerouted to standby systems ensuring continuous operations. Required DB2-z/OS versions, APARs, and JDBC driver versions (minimum 3.51.131999) are specified for both planned and unplanned failovers.
