SAP Note 1082356 - Using the ODBC based DBSL for Microsoft SQL Server

Component : Microsoft SQL Server -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1082356 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
SAP R/3 startup issues linked to DBSL library errors for SQL Server versions are addressed. Kernel 7.10 or later require ODBC-based DBSL. For SAP systems on SQL Server 2005 relying on version 7.00, ensure SNAC version 10 drivers are utilized. Backward compatibility for SQL Server 2000 is enabled via dbmssslib_oledb.dll for kernel 7.20 systems. Installation of SQL Server Native Client drivers advised for proper DBSL functioning, available in SQL Server Feature Pack downloads. Configuration adjustments include setting environment variables and SAP profile parameters to properly associate with the required DBSL library.
