Diagnosis
You are using an object characteristic that is not supported in all IPCscenarios.
In this case:
1 = CRM Order / Internet Sales B2B
2 = Internet Sales (B2C and Catalog)
3 = Mobile Sales
4 = Vehicle Manager / Internet Sales R/3 Edition
5 = CRM Standalone.

System Response
Non-supported characteristics do not receive any values from the callenvironment and therefore have no value in the read access, soinconsistencies may result. Write access to data from the callingenvironment is fundamentally not possible (exceptions: STPO-MENGE,SDCOM-VKOND).

Procedure
If you want read access to the reference field, check whether it ispossible in your scenario to enter the corresponding SCE context (tablename, table field, value) in the IPC-calling application. Forcorresponding instructions, see the online documentation.
