SAP Message USMD1038 - Data model &1: Valid entity type in attribute is inconsistent: &2/&3

Diagnosis
The error might have occurred for one of the following reasons:

  • The entity type &V2& or the additional entity type &V3& is not
    • defined.
    • The entity type &V2& is the same as the additional entity type &V3& and
      • the hierarchy usage is #Hierarchy Name#.
      • The entity type &V2& is not defined with the
        • storage and use type 1.
        • A hierarchy is not allowed to be set up for the entity type.

        • The additional entity type &V3& is defined with storage and use type
          • 4 or 1 without a data element.

          System Response
          The data model cannot be saved or activated.

          Procedure
          Identify the error based on the above mentioned possible causes andchange the settings accordingly.
