Diagnosis
You have filled a variable for the characteristic &V1& with theinterval &V2& through &V3&. You use this variable in Customizing forsales planning under Origin of Responsibilities. This means thatthe variable forms the basis for determining the responsibilities forsales planning and thereby the basis for the creation of the worklist.
It is only possible to enter an interval for such a variable if thevalues for the characteristic are provided by hierarchy derivation.This is the case, for example, with a product hierarchy that has thecharacteristics Product Category and Brand. In this case,you can enter an interval for the characteristic Brand becauseall available characteristic values are made available by hierarchyderivation.
As the Origin of Responsibilities, however, you entered avariable for a characteristic that is not found in any hierarchy forhierarchy derivation. In this instance, no interval is permitted forthe variable for performance reasons.

Procedure
You can do one of the following:

• Enter a list of single values for &V1& in place of the interval.


• In hierarchy derivation, enter a hierarchy containing the
characteristic &V1&.
