Diagnosis
This part of the message log contains the messages that result frommanual entries. However, 'formal entry errors' such as the entry of acharacter string in a numeric field which cannot be interpreted as anumber, are not gathered here. For such entries, the system generatesan individual error message directly.
The part of the message log on manual entries, contains messages onsources of errors, which can be determined by the following questions:

• Are the characteristic values within the selection of the planning
package?

• Are the characteristic values valid?


• Does the characteristic combination already exist?


• Is the characteristic combination locked in a data slice for the entry?


• Is the characteristic combination valid?


• Is the characteristic combination valid for a characteristic hierarchy?


• Is the indicator for verification selected for one characteristic
hierarchy and exceeds the total distributed values of the distributablevalue?

Procedure
The errors for these messages must be removed, otherwise the datacannot be saved or transferred to the data buffer for furtherprocessing.
