Diagnosis
A "Planning in characteristic hierarchy" should be executed in thelayout and in addition a hierarchy, which is defined in SAP BW shouldbe used for a characteristic. Such a hierarchy can only be used if onecharacteristic is in the lead column and no "Planning in characteristichierarchy" is used.

System Response
The hierarchy display was deactivated for the characteristic. Nohierarchy is displayed.

Procedure
If you want to use a hierarchy which is defined in SAP BW, to displayin the lead columns, then make sure that only one characteristic is inthe lead column. Also make sure that "Planning in characteristichierarchy" is not selected, and enter the key of an existing hierarchy.
