SAP Message UPP_FR011 - Serious error in Excel. Cancel your activity

Diagnosis
A serious error occurred in MS Excel.

System Response
Interactive planning, and displaying/changing the layout cannot becontinued.

Procedure
To restrict and remove the error if possible, proceed as follows:

  • Cancel your activity. Try to call up the layout again in display/change
    • mode, or manual planning.
    • If the error occurs again, then exit the planning session, to end the
      • transaction. Try to call up the layout again.
      • If the error occurs again, then exit the mode of the SAP System in
        • which you are working. Subsequently try to call up the layout in a newmode.
        • However, if the error still occurs, then either the Excel file or the
          • Excel installation itself is incorrect. Therefore, check your Excelinstallation (by opening or creating a local Excel file). If your Excelinstallation is not incorrect, then it can be assumed that the Excelfile belonging to the layout is faulty. Create your layout again (donot copy!) or switch the layout in the change mode to SAP ALV as thedisplay tool.
