SAP Message UMG408 - Report cannot be executed. Release info of CU&&UC procedure is wrong.

Diagnosis
You execute the report UMG_FINISH_PREPARATION which is used to finishthe preparation for a Unicode conversion in a Combined Upgrade & UnicodeConversion scenario (CU<(>&<)>UC).
The execution is not allowed because the release information stored intable UM4STATUS does not match to release info expected byUMG_FINISH_PREPARATION.
UMG_FINISH_PREPARATION can be executed in a CU<(>&<)>UC scenario only ifthe basis start release of the Upgrade is 6.20 or 6.40.

Procedure

  • if you are not conducting a CU<(>&<)>UC procedure you do not need to
    • execute report UMG_FINISH_PREPARATION
    • if you are conducting a CU<(>&<)>UC procedure with a basis start release
      • 6.20 and 6.40 you have to execute report UMG_FINISH_PREPARATION afterfinishing the Upgrade
      • if you are conducting a CU<(>&<)>UC procedure with the basis start
        • release 4.6C you have to execute report UM4_FINISH_PREPARATION afterfinishing the Upgrade
        • if you are conducting a CU<(>&<)>UC procedure and the table UM4STATUS is
          • empty you should check that all phases in the Upgrade finished withouterror. Table UM4STATUS contains the most important steps of thepreparation for the a Unicode conversion in a CU<(>&<)>UC scenario
