You have started characteristic maintenance within the context of asource data basis. However,the characteristic is also used in an ordinarydata basis. Under certain c
ircumstances, the role this characteristic has in the ordinary databasis can require higher data consistency. These requirements can befulfilled only if you define the characteristic values (in theConsolidation Workbench) that you get when you set the parameters for aconsolidation area of this data basis.

System Response
The characteristic values can only be displayed in the context of thesource data basis. Changes are not possible.

Procedure
To change the characteristic values, first find out which consolidationarea uses the characteristic. Then set the parameters for thatconsolidation area. Now you will be able to edit the characteristicvalues in the Workbench.
