SAP Message UCM0146 - Characteristic &2: Invalid role assignment &3

Diagnosis
You have specified characteristic &v2& for the role &v3& underAssets/Liabilities in the data model ofdata basis &V1&. However,this characteristic is not suitable for this role.

System Response
The definition of data basis &V1& is inconsistent and cannot be saved inthis state.

Procedure
Check your specifications in the data model under Assets/Liabilities
. Call up input help and choose a valid characteristic for role &V3&.
If you want to assign a characteristic that is not listed in input help,make sure that the following preconditions are met:

  • General:

    • The characteristic is contained in the InfoObject catalog that isspecified for characteristics.
    Another role has not been assigned to the characteristic in theconsolidation data model.
    • Asset/liability-managing consolidation unit:

      • The characteristic references another characteristic that has the roleconsolidation unit.
      • Noncurrent asset; assets/liabilities:

        • If the characteristic is dependent on other characteristics, then eachindependent characteristic must have either the role consolidationunit, the role fixed in the consolidation area, or no role atall - that is, it is not used in the data model.
        If the characteristic references another characteristic, no role isassigned to the referenced characteristic.
        If both roles (noncurrent asset and assets/liabilities)are used, different characteristics exist for these two roles. (Eithercharacteristic is allowed to reference the other characteristic.)
        • Acquired asset:

          • The characteristic references the characteristic with the rolenoncurrent asset.
          If the referenced characteristic is dependent on another characteristicwith the role consolidation unit, then the acquired assetdependent on the corresponding partner unit.
          • Retired asset:

            • The characteristic with the role noncurrent asset can be usedsimultaneously with the role retired asset.
            Otherwise, this characteristic references the characteristic with therole noncurrent asset.
            • Noncurrent asset - document:

              • The characteristic references the characteristic with the rolenoncurrent asset.
              If the referenced characteristic is dependent on another characteristicwith the role consolidation unit, then the "noncurrent asset -document" is dependent on the corresponding asset/liability-managingconsolidation unit.
