Diagnosis Characteristic &V2& has the attribute &V3&. However, characteristic &V3&is also explicitly contained in the data basis and has the role "fixedin the consolidation area". Therefore, the value of characteristic &V3&needs to be defined as a single value in the customizing settings of theconsolidation area. However, at the same time, the system processes multiple values ofcharacteristic &V2& , which can be assigned any valid value of attribute V3 in the master record. Therefore, the definition of the data model of data basis &V1& may beinconsistent. Procedure Decide whether characteristic &V3& in data basis &V1& should have therole "fixed in the consolidation area". In the data model, check whether the value of the attribute ofcharacteristic &V2& (with the same name) also needs to match the valuein the consolidation area - for all characteristic values to beprocessed in the consolidation area. If this is true, make sure that the respective value of attribute &V3&is indeed defined in the customizing settings of characteristic &V2&. However, if you want the value of the attribute to be variable or youalso want to allow an initialized value (meaning that the assignment inthe master record is merely optional), then the current data model mightbe inconsistent. You can roughly achieve the desired constellation without any ambiguityby dispensing with the identity of the attribute with the customcharacteristic of the data basis. For example, in SAP BW you can createa new InfoObject that references InfoObject &V4& , and then use the newInfoObject (instead of &V4&) as the attribute of characteristic &V2&. |
