Diagnosis
According to the settings in theconsolidation area,consolidation function &V1& is to be used. This function utilizes fieldswith the role &V2&. In databasis &V3&, however, this role has not been allocated to acharacteristic (or key figure).

System Response
The settings of the consolidation area are inconsistent and cannot besaved.

Procedure
If you still want to save the consolidation area, deselect consolidationfunction &V1& for now.
Otherwise, proceed as follows:
In the maintenance screen for data basis &V3&, allocate the role &V2& toa characteristic, and then save the data basis.
Note: If this role is not available for any characteristic, the systemautomatically allocates the role when you save the data basis. If thishappens, see if there are any error messages with regards to missingInfoObjects in SAP BW, and - if applicable - activate the respective SAPBW Content.
Reactivate consolidation function &V1& in the consolidation area andsave your settings.
