SAP Message UCF6042 - Method &1: Start or life of amortization/reduction is missing

Diagnosis
The settings for goodwill in method &V1& are inconsistent with regardsto the treatment of (negative) goodwill. This can have the followingcauses:

  • Ordinary amortization of (negative) goodwill was activated, but the
    • start date and/or the life of amortization is missing.
    • Periodic reduction of (negative) goodwill was activiated, but the start
      • date and/or the life of the reduction is missing.

      Procedure
      Go to Customizing for consolidation of investments method &V1& andspecify the start date and the life of the amortization or reduction.
