SAP Message SMOE_MESSAGE176 - Enter the namespace of field Short ID

Diagnosis
You are using the replication object wizard in the AdministrationConsole (transaction SMOEAC) to create a new replication object or thepublication wizard to create a new publication. You are receiving thiserror, because the first letter of the field Short ID does notcorrespond to the namespace convention.

Procedure
If you are using the replication object wizard on a customer system,the first letter can be 'Y' or 'Z'.
All other letters are reserved for SAP systems. On SAP systems you cancustomize the namespace by creating an entry in table SMOFPARSFA. Inthe table view maintenance (transaction SM30) for table SMOFPARSFA youcan create a new entry with
PARSFAKEY = 'SMOE_NAME' and PARNAME = 'SMOE_NAMESPACE'.
As value in field PARVAL1 you can set

  • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.

    • If you now give another value as the given in PARVAL1 your value willnot be accepted. On the other hand on SAP systems without theSMOFPARSFA entry the values 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 will not beaccepted. On customer systems only 'Y' and 'Z' are allowed (independentfrom entries in table SMOFPARSFA).
