Diagnosis When creating the structure of a logical database you must first definethe root node of the structure, that is the node at the highest levelin the structure. That happens on this screen. The name of the node can be chosen freely (special characters are notpermitted). In addition to this you must make a Dictionary reference by specifyinga type and a table name or a structure name. A node can have the following types : T (Table)> : Table or structure from the Dictionary (this typeexactly matches the concept before Release 4.0A). With this type thetable name must be the same as the node name. S (Structure)> : Table or structure from the Dictionary (liketype T), however the node name can be different to the table name. C (Complex data object)> : A type defined in a type group can beused as the node of a logical database. To do this the name of the typegroup must be maintained in the field type group. The type definitionmust be done via Dictionary -> Change type groups> (see alsoComplex data element>) If a complex data object ( type 'C' ) is entered as the type of a nodethen a type group must also be specified. For nodes of the type 'T' or'S' the field type group must be empty.System Response Error message Procedure Enter a name, a node type (see F4 help) and a Dictionary structure(table, structure or type group). |
