Diagnosis The monitoring tree element (MTE) associated with this message appearsin the self-monitoring section of the CCMS alert monitor. The MTEreports on problems with RFCs (Remote Function Calls) that were issuedby the monitoring architecture itself or by methods (programs) that wererun automatically by the monitoring architecture. Procedure An alert in this MTE indicates that some or all of the monitoringfunctionality of the alert monitor is not working. Check the messagesto see if only one or a few methods are affected, or whether general RFCproblems have occurred. The RFC problems that may occur fall into two classes:
- Communication errors occur when the RFC system cannot establish a
connection to the destination application server, system, or externalcomponent. Use transaction SM59 and the RFC documentation to test and diagnose theaffected RFC destination(s).
- Program errors occur when the RFC function cannot be run on the
destination server or external component. Program errors may be due tosimple configuration errors (user for RFC logons not present or does nothave required authorizations). You may be able to correct configurationerrors yourself. Program errors may also be due to internal program errors, such assyntax errors, in the RFC function in the destination server orcomponent. In this case, contact the author of the affected method orSAP for help in correcting the function.
