Diagnosis A remote function call (RFC) that was made by the monitoringarchitecture was unsuccessful. The method shows the cause of theproblem (as reported by RFC) as well as the RFC function module that wasto be run and the RFC destination at which it was to be run. The RFC problem is probably caused either by a communication problem(the destination could not be reached) or by an execution problem in thefunction module. System Response The RFC call could not be completed. The problem has most likely onlyminor consequences for your use of the alert monitor and monitoringarchitecture. Some monitoring functionality may not be available, butthe alert monitor and most of the display should still be available foruse. Procedure If the reported error suggests a communication problem (system notreached, timeout, and similar causes), then test the RFC destination intransaction SM59. If the test is unsuccessful, check that thedefinition of the destination is correct, that the destinationserver/system is running and is connected to the respective messagehandler, that no network problem has occurred, and that the gatewayprocesses in both the calling system and the destination are running. If the reported error suggests a runtime problem (an exception in thefunction module that was to run), then see if the problem is temporaryor was caused by a configuration error (no authorization, for example). You can probably correct such problems yourself. Please report hardprogram errors, such as syntax errors, to the responsible programmer orto SAP. |
