Diagnosis You are installing InfoObject &V1& from BI Content. You have chosen the"Merge with Customer Version" function. System Response The system tries to automatically merge the BI Content version with yourversion, as far as possible. This has the following effect on theproperties of InfoObject &V1& :
- InfoObjects in the compounding and in the attributes of the BI Content
version are transferred into the compounding or into the attributes ofthe merged version.
- The data type compatible with both versions is used as the data type
(for example, if one version has 'character string' and the otherversion has 'character string only with numbers' as a data type, thenthe data type of the merged version is 'character string')
- The length or output length of the merged version is the larger of the
lengths or output lengths of the outbound versionsProcedure No other properties can be merged automatically. These are listed andyou can decide yourself whether the property from the BI Content versionor the property from the current version is used in the merged version. The properties of your current customer version are used as default. Forall properties that you would like to use instead from the BI Contentversion, you change the selection of the corresponding selection fields. After you have done this for all properties, choose 'TransferSelection'. If you are installing several InfoObjects from the BIContent at the same time with the "Merge" function, the system displaysthe next InfoObject. If you choose the "Cancel" function, the merge is interruptedimmediately. Your previous selection is not transferred. If you do not want to merge the InfoObjects manually, choose "Copy"instead of "Merge". Your current version is replaced by the BI Contentversion without comparing the versions first.
