Diagnosis
You want to create a version of an object, replace an object or changethe validity period of an object. This is not possible due to one ofthe following reasons:

• It results in a gap or overlap in the validity period of the object
versions or in the validity period of the objects. However, inCustomizing for Versioning, you specified that gaps and overlaps arenot permitted.

• When you change the validity period, the version sequence is changed.
This is generally not permitted.

Procedure


• If you want to create a version of an object, enter a validity period
that follows on directly from the validity period of earlier versions.

• If you want to replace an object, enter a predecessor object with a
validity period directly before the validity period of the successorobject (without gaps or overlaps), or change the validity period of thepredecessor object.

• If you want to change the validity period of an object, the validity
period must start after that of the predecessor version and before thatof the successor version.
