Diagnosis
Lower-case letters are allowed for the values of characteristic &V1&.Characteristic &V1& is not an exclusive attribtue. This means that itcan be used in InfoCubes, DataStore objects, and as a navigationattribute. It can also be used to select data on the characteristicsvalues with the help of variables.

System Response
The characteristic values are only found if lower-case and upper-caseconventions are observed on the entry screen for variables. For example,the following words are not seen to be the same: ABC, aBC Abc, AbC, ....
When lower-case letters are not permitted, an entry on on the variablescreen is automatically converted to upper-case. In such cases, theentries ABC, aBC Abc and AbC are indeed treated as the same word.

Procedure
Reset the lower-case letters if you're not sure whether you want thescenario described above to apply on your variable screens. Otherwise,
make the characteristic &V1& into an exclusive attribute, therebyensuring that it does not appear in the variable screen.
