Diagnosis
You want to create an inspection characteristic with a characteristicnumber (or a dependent characteristic specification with an assignmentnumber) and with a change number/effectivity in a task list. However,the characteristic with this characteristic number (or the dependentcharacteristic specification with this assignment number) and with thischange number has previously been deleted.

System Response
The system does not allow this operation.

Procedure
It is not possible to create inspection characteristics or dependentcharacteristic specifications with the same characteristic number orassignment number and the same change number/effectivity in the tasklist more than once, even if this characteristic or dependentcharacteristic specification has been deleted. This cannot be changedwithout changing the database design. You can manually input a newcharacteristic number for the characteristic or assignment number forthe dependent characteristic specification, or you can use a differentchange number.
Note: This problem does not occur for change numbers that refer to adate.
