SAP Message CC197 - System status: change is locked by the system

Diagnosis
You want to process a change object (such as a BOM or document) withreference to the change number of an ECO.

System Response
The system checks the system status of the ECO.
The ECO you selected has been locked by the system. This happensautomatically if you set the system status "Change not possible" for atleast one of the change objects.

Procedure
Check the object management records of the ECO.

  • You cannot unlock the ECO until none of the object management records
    • has the system status "Change not possible".
    • The system lock is set automatically by the system, but is not deleted
      • automatically by the system.
      Once you have deleted the system status "Change not possible" for theobject management records, you must unlock the ECO manually.
