SAP Message CB612 - Value check for characteristic & not possible

Diagnosis
On the screen Possible entries, characteristic &V1& is assignedthe function module using a foreign key for the value check. However,the check cannot be performed for one of the following reasons:

  • In the dialog box containing the data for process management, no
    • reference field for the foreign key has been maintained.
    • The reference field entered is not included in the structure specified
      • for foreign key definition.
      • The foreign key of the reference field entered does not exist or has
        • not been maintained properly.
        • The foreign key of the reference field entered refers to fields that do
          • not exist for foreign key check.
          • The characteristic value cannot be converted to the type and format of
            • the reference field.
            • For characteristics within the SAP name range (PPPI_*):

              • Contact your system administrator.
              • For user-defined characteristics:

                • If necessary, complete or correct the defintion of the value check forthe characteristic.
