This is because this would lead to a time gap in the validity of partsof the definition of the characteristic &V1& if you made this change.
If class type and class are specified below, this message refers to anoverwrite of the characteristic &V1& there:
Class type &V3&, class &V4&.

System Response
The system generates a message log listing the change objects that donot allow a date change.

Procedure
Choose a "Valid From" date after &V2& for the change master record.
