Diagnosis
You cannot use characteristic &V1& for one of the following reasons:

• It has not been created in the client in which you are working.


• It has not been assigned to a characteristics group that is released
for use in process instructions or process messages in the plant inwhich you are working.

Procedure
RESET N1
If characteristic &V1& does not exist in your client, create it inCustomizing for Process Management.
Depending on your requirements, execute the following steps inCustomizing:
Release the characteristics group to which characteristic &V1& isassigned for use in process instructions and, if required, in processmessages.
Assign characteristic &V1& to a characteristics group that has beenreleased for use in process messages.
Call up the process instruction category, the master recipe, or theprocess order again and start the process instruction assistant.
Characteristic &V1& is now available.
