SAP Message C$504 - File or path name of transfer file & too long

Diagnosis
The path and file name of the transfer file is longer than 40characters.

System Response
The upload is aborted.

Procedure
Correct the path and file name so that it is of the prescribed length.The following naming conventions apply to file names:

  • Phrases: phrases.dat

  • Sources: referenc.dat

  • Specifications: substanc.dat
