Procedure Reloading archived data is not usually necessary because:
- It is possible to evaluate archived data.
- The Archive Information System (SAP AS) is available.
- Direct access to data objects using the Archive Development Kit (ADK)
is possible. However, if you have to reload data to the database, it is important todistinguish between two cases:
- You have to reload the data shortly after archiving because the
selection critera for the archiving program were incorrect. This is theonly case in which the reloading of archived data is recommended. However, depending on the archiving object, it may not be possible torestore all data.
- If you want to reload data after a longer period because you want to
use it again, you must ensure the following: All data relating to thereloaded data must be available in the database or you must restore orreload this data before you can reload the actual data that yourequire. Since, in this case, there is not a real error, SAP advisesyou strongly against reloading. Read the documentation for the relevant application before you reloadarchived data. Reloading between releases is not permitted. SAP cannotaccept any responsiblity for errors that arise in this context.
