Diagnosis
You want to reassign a sub-tree of an investment program.
Since some or all of the positions in the sub-tree you want to movehave budget values or plan values, you can use the procedure below inorder to automatically and consistently modify the values within theprogram in accordance with these new positions:
If X is the uppermost position in the sub-tree that you want toreassign, and the position immediately above X was A before thereassignment, but will be B after the reassignment, then:

• The budget/plan value of A and all positions above it in the hierarchy
will be reduced by the budget/plan values of X.

• Whereas the budget/plan value of B and all positions above it in the
hierarchy are increased by the budget/plan value of X.
The increase or decrease of budget/plan values takes place up to thefirst position above them in the hierarchy that is common to A and B.

Procedure
Consider whether you want this automatic modification of the budgetand/or planned values.


• If yes, then confirm Reassign in the next step. When you then
Save later, the system automatically ensures that thebudget/plan values are modified correctly.

• If no, then take back the Reassign in the next step. In this
case, you should change all of the budget/plan values of the positionsin the sub-tree to 0 before you reassign the sub-tree.
