Diagnosis
You set the American date format (MM/DD/YYYY) for the Excel legacy datatransfer. (If you did not make a setting, the setting was adopted fromyour user master record.)
However, a date that was transferred from the transfer file contains aperiod (.). This seems to indicate the European date format(DD.MM.YYYY).

System Response
The system created the asset master record and interpreted the date inAmerican format.

Procedure
If you are not sure if the date should be interpreted in this way, thencarry out a test run using the same field assignments and the same inputfile. You then receive detailed information on which fields in the inputfile contain a period (.). Then check your input file.
