isbrmDiagnosis The specified portfolio hierarchy was supposed to be changed or deleted. However, evaluation data exists that are dependent on the nodes of theportfolio hierarchy. If you delete the portfolio hierarchy or change thetree structure, then you will no longer be able to access the savedevaluation data. This is also true for archived evaluation data. Currently, there is data that is dependent on the nodes of the portfoliohierarchy stored in the following applications:
- Report data memory (value at risk)
- Final results of the results database (Risk and Portfolio Analyzer)
For details about the report data runs or the procedure for finalresults that refer to the portfolio hierarchy, see the status>function in the display transaction of the portfolio hierarchy. To callthis transaction, go to the area menu and choose Evaluation Control-> Portfolio Hierarchy -> Display>.System Response The activity is terminated. The system does not change the portfoliohierarchy, or it deletes the portfolio hierarchy. If the definition of the portfolio hierarchy has already been changed(for example, by a transport) and, in this step, you want to adjust thetree structure, the system does not carry out the adjustment. Instead,it continues to use the old tree structure. The changed definition isignored. Procedure Deleting the portfolio hierarchy> If you want to delete the portfolio hierarchy, you first have to deletethe dependent final results and the dependent RDM data. To do this, usethe management transaction in the relevant application. If you stillneed the saved evaluation data, you should deactivate the portfoliohierarchy and not delete it. If you do this, you can still use theportfolio hierarchy to display the evaluation data, but the portfoliohierarchy can then no longer be used for current evaluations. Generating the portfolio hierarchy> If you transport the definition of the portfolio hierarchy or if youchange an assigned characteristic hierarchy, the system shouldrestructure the tree structure. These definition changes would, however, cause existing nodes to be omitted or the tree structure to be changed. This is not permitted. You have to choose definition changes that makejust one extension to the tree structure. The system does not generate the portfolio hierarchy and, therefore, does not adjust the new definitions. Instead, the system updates thetree structure on the basis of the saved definitions that were lastvalid (backup version). You can display the differences between thebackup version and the changed definition by means of the status>function in the display transaction of the portfolio hierarchy (chooseEvaluation Control -> Portfolio Hierarchy -> Display). Check whether you can adjust the definition of the portfolio hierarchyor of the characteristic hierarchy, so that it would result in only oneextension of the portfolio hierarchy. If you cannot do this, you have tocreate a new portfolio hierarchy. If the old portfolio hierarchy is tobe used just to display saved evaluation data, then it should bedeactivated (choose Evaluation Control -> Portfolio Hierarchy ->Deactivate). Changing the portfolio hierarchy> You wanted to delete the assignment of the filter to the portfoliohierarchy. In principle, this is possible. However, the system cannot dothis because it cannot generate the portfolio hierarchy due to incorrectdefinitions. See also the point on the generation of portfoliohierarchies. You therefore have to correct the incorrect definitionsbefore you can delete the assignments to a filter.
