Diagnosis
Only a new version of the selected object exists. This is currentlylocked by another user, so you cannot obtain update authorization. Thislock is not a temporary system lock (i.e. the user is in the process ofmaintaining the object), but a permanent reservation of this version.

System Response
Since no active version of this object exists, the system only displaysa message indicating that the object is locked.

Procedure
Only the user currently maintaining the object can remove the lock byactivating it or explictly releasing it for maintenance by all otherusers with the 'unlock' function.
