The maximumamount which you can divide up over the individual periods is thespecified total number of units. Please be aware of the following special case. Assume that theremaining number of units is zero for the last maintained period in afiscal year, and the output for the period is greater than zero. Thenthe remaining number of units for this period will be negative, whichis not displayed, however, until the following period. If the number of units per period exceeds the total number of units,this leads to depreciation below a book value of zero. The base methodof the unit-of-production depreciation key does not allow fordepreciation below zero, due to one of the following reasons:
