To carry out a consumption-based settlement, a minimum of two meterreadings must exist: the maximum meter reading before the settlementperiod is used as the initial value. If the meter did not exist beforethe settlement period, the lowest meter reading in the settlementperiod is used.
The maximum meter reading in the settlement period is used as the endvalue.
Zero consumption is permitted. However, the meter readings on variousreading dates must be identical in this case. The meter reading datefor the initial value must not be identical to the meter reading dateof the end value.
The reference date of the meter reading is decisive for the settlementperiod.
