Diagnosis
You have tried to start a payroll step. However, a program forperforming the step has not been maintained in the variant record youhave chosen for the step in question.

System Response
The step is not executed. Instead, the system continues to display thecurrent screen.

Procedure
Call up the variant record and maintain the program used to perform thepayroll step. You can do this via the menu, or by maintaining viewcluster HRDKFIRMVA (for company variant records) or HRDKUSERVA (foruser variant records) via transaction SM34.
For example, you can maintain the former as follows: Company variantset > Gross payroll > Maintain action variant.
This determines the program and variant used to start gross payrollaccounting.
