Canadian Social Insurance Numbers consist of nine digits.
The first eight digits are assigned, while the ninth digit isconstructed from the first eight and acts as a check digit. Theaccuracy of any SIN is verified against a standard modulus 10 checkdigit formula.
This message appears if the SIN fails that formula.
